چکیده

In clinical practice, neutrophilia most commonly relates to leukemoid reactions due to chronic infections, inflammatory diseases, or various types of malignancies. Cytokine-driven neutrophilia accompanying plasma cell neoplasms is a well-described association. Chronic neutrophilic leukemia (CNL) is a rare myeloproliferative neoplasm, with only ;200 patients reported to date, mostly culled from case reports and small case series. Atypical chronic myeloid leukemia (aCML) is an uncommon myelodysplastic/myeloproliferative (MDS/ MPN) neoplasm, with a relative incidence estimated at 1 to 2 cases for every 100 patients withBCR-ABL1-positive chronic myeloid leukemia (CML).

The new genetics of chronic neutrophilic leukemia and atypical CML: implications for diagnosis and treatment.

Although activation of tyrosine kinase pathways is a shared theme among myeloproliferative neoplasms, the pathogenetic basis of chronic neutrophilic leukemia (CNL) has remained elusive. Recently, we identified high-frequency oncogenic mutations in the granulocyte-colony stimulating factor receptor (CSF3R) in CNL and in some patients with atypical chronic myeloid leukemia. Inhibition of Janus ki...

Frequency of BCR-ABL Fusion Transcripts in Iranian Azeri Turkish patients with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia

Background: The Philadelphia chromosome (Ph) characterized by t (9; 22) (q34; q11.2) is a reciprocal translocation giving rise to a chimeric BCR-ABL fusion gene. Incidence of Ph chromosome is over 98% in Patients with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML) and around 20% in acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). The finding of this fusion gene is essential for diagnosis of CML by detection of various fusi...

Evaluation of Thyroid Dysfunction during Imatinib Therapy in Chronic Myeloid Leukemia

Background: Imatinib mesylate is the first generation of Tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKI) and highly effective in the treatment of chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). We aimed to evaluate thyroid function at baseline and at 1, 3, 6 and 12 months after initiation of Imatinib mesylate therapy in 20 newly diagnosed BCR-ABL positive CML patients. Methods: This study was done during 2013-2014, 20 new c...

Flow Cytometry in Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia Blast Crisis

Background: Chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML) is a myeloproliferative disorder due to BCR-ABL1 translocation. Patients showing transformation into blast crisis (BC) have poorer treatment response and prognosis.  Methods: A retrospective study was conducted in the department of Pathology, Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi, India, over a time period of 5 years (2014-2019) to evaluate the ...

Signaling pathways involved in chronic myeloid leukemia pathogenesis: the importance of targeting Musashi2-Numb signaling to eradicate leukemia stem cells

Objective(s): Chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) is a myeloid clonal proliferation disease defining by the presence of the Philadelphia chromosome that shows the movement of BCR-ABL1. In this study, the critical role of the Musashi2-Numb axis in determining cell fate and relationship of the axis to important signaling pathways such as Hedgehog and Notch that are essential ...
